I really like it too. I love the cast. It's so funny that both Maureen O'Hara (Spencer's Mountain) is in it with Richard.

I love this movie. I have the CD I used to play on the radio every Christmas, Richard Thomas reads the story beautifully. I'd play this every year and every year I'd receive a box of books to give away! Our listeners really enjoyed it!

Darn my brain. I was thinking of another movie that RT and Patrica Neal played mother and son as they did in the homecoming cause RT and Maureen O'Hara were not mother and son in Spencers Mountain.

Scarlett O'Hara.......the answer is: "All Quiet on the Western Front" (1979) That is the other movie that Patricia Neal played Richard Thomas' mother in.
Tonyray....I also have the dvd of The Christmas Box & Timepiece.

Some forum member (sorry, I don't remember who....) said he knew for a fact that one of the actors was on a crusade to get Walton shows removed from You-Tube.... And, you already know I agree -- it's just not fair to the contributors, although we feel "The Waltons" should be easily available to all..... So, who should we support ?? Can't have it both ways, I guess.

^ Yeah, I went back to watching The Waltons on DVD. So glad, my mom bought all seasons. Since her favorite show as well.

It is all good and I am too vocal on these items. People on this site are wonderful. Just know..YouTube..only helps people. I spent a month in hospital rooms with my roommate and being able to watch the Walton reunion movies through YouTube calmed me down when I slept in a chair. No need for pity comments..just stating. Young people btw watch YouTube more than cable..if we want the Walton's to continue..we have to adapt. I have purchased two books from the actors..And would purchase more.
