... The Waltons was NEVER cancelled, if we didn't get the reunions and the show just carried on write up until today Season 10, airing in 1982, would have been set during 1946 and today in 2012 we'd be on Season 40 and, for the characters, it'd be 1976 now. What do you imagine would have happened? I imagine the storylines from the first three movies would have been integrated as episodes, and I'm not sure that Richard Thomas would have been as likely to return. People say it was going down hill by Season 9, would it have gotten a 'second wind' what interesting storylines do you see happenings in all the extra seasons? This is of course, just for fun, not entirely serious.

Since Earl Sr died in 1969 likely John Walton would have had to die too so Olivia would have become a widow at some point which would make for interesting storylines. Grandma, the Baldwin ladies, and Yancy would have all had to die at some point as the actors who played them have all passed away. I can see the scene with the reading of the Baldwin's will and the Waltons are left the recipe and recipe machine. Ben inherits the mill from John and Yancy leaves him his estate. Ben teaches his son Charlie the family trade just a John did with him.
Grandma dies and is laid to rest next to grandpa up on the mountain in a touching episode.
Olivia becomes a great grandmother when John Curtis's wife gives birth to the first Walton great grandchild.
Ike would retire and he and Cora Beth would buy that beach house in Virginia Beach that they were considering doing when Ike had his heart attack.

Elizabeth and Drew would finally get married. They would live in the dream house that John had been planning to build for Olivia but would be built by Ben and Paul.

Jim Bob and Patsy live at the store but Mary Ellen, Jonesy and all their kids move into the house with Olivia. John Boy, Janet and the twins move into the Baldwin house.

They would have to fix the timeline though, meaning that Johnboy and Janet would have gotten married earlier than the late 60's.

These are all very cool ideas ;D they could also have on called The Crisis, where we see the family worry that there'll be a nuclear war during the Cuban Missle Crisis. They would have to fix the timeline though, meaning that Johnboy and Janet would have gotten married earlier than the late 60's. Yeah, I imagine the timeline being less broken if it had never been cancelled!

The Baldwin House is left to Jason Toni and the kids since Jason was the ladies favorite or so it appeared. Since the reunion specials didn't happen Virginia would still be alive and well and teaching at the school John Curtis becomes a doctor like his parents. Jim Bob marries Patsy ahd he would be an airplane mechanic while Patsy would run the boarding house her aunt Flossie left her. Elizabeth teaches botany at Boatwright John Boy takes Rome Walton's diary and Judge Baldwins papers and turns them into a best selling novel about the history of Waltons Mountain

Jim Bob marries Patsy ahd he would be an airplane mechanic while Patsy would run the boarding house her aunt Flossie left her. In season 7 The Empty Nest Zuleika Dunbar bought Flossie Brimmer's boarding house. So that's why I said that Jim Bob and Patsy bought Ike's store Pasty would run the store and Jim Bob would run his auto shop.

I've said I'd like to see the Walton's in today's society. New technology on the mountain, but still old Walton values and Walton Mountain scenery. Best wishes Waltonsportwriter

Definiely the old walton values & ways of living. Maybe more of the self sufficiency/sustaining lifestyle/farming/milling/diversifying! The show had & has endless storylines based on this alone. Tho keeping down home & homey is the problem i.e how do you merge technology & the enviornment without denying its existence.

What if?
The two episodes The Tempest and the Whirlwind never happened except for Mary Ellen meeting Jonesy. John and Olivia returned from Arizona and finally had their dream house built on top of the mountain. Ben and Cindy stay in the original house and have more children than just the two. Grandma stays with them. Rose and Stanley build onto the shed and make it a full size cottage for themselves.

If we're going down the road of changing what already is, what about if Richard Thomas agreed to play John-Boy in the later seasons? They could have introduced Robert Wightman as a like-minded war buddy of John-Boy's and given him his own character, rather than making him fill in for Richard.
