He lived in London for a while, then he moved to France. He became MIA when he plane was shot down, but was eventually brought home to America in a coma. Then, after making his recovery, he went back to France.

No, in both The Waiting,The Journal, The Furlough and The Spirit it is mentioned that Johnboy's plane went down over occupied Belgium.

In season six, JB got a job offer with the military paper, Stars and Stripes and was stationed in London.
He was on assignment for the paper when the plane he was on was shot down.
I do not remember where the plane flew out of, but I believe that once he was rescued, he was hospitalized in Belgium.
Eventually, JB was sent to the states and then home. After a full recovery, JB went back overseas.
