I really like the characters of Rose and Stanley, didn't care for the children very much, and that is probably due to the fact that there wasn't enough time to form a bond between viewer and character. Rose could really dance!

Rose was too much of a "flibberty-gibbit" for me -- too much of a giggler or something -- tried too hard. I liked the gentleness of Stanley -- his basic, down-to-earth, good man personna. And, he was in love with an overweight woman -- gotta love it!

Hi Bucky!
> JB's high school girlfriend (her name escapes me), Jenny and Cindy.
Uh, which "JB" were you referring to? "John-Boy" or "Jim-Bob"?
John-Boy's high school girlfriend(s) were Jenny Pendleton, the Bascom girl (played by Sissy Spacek), and Marcia Woolery.
Jim-Bob's best-known high school girlfriend was Patsy Brimmer, though he did date other girls whose names were not mentioned for the most part.

I would have to guess that JB would always refer to John Boy?
At first I didn't care for Rose. Then as I watched the episodes over a few times, I started to grow attached to her and then LOVE her. She had such a neat sense of humor. Stanley was so cool too. I think the reason that I initially didn't care for Rose was because in my eyes she was taking Livy's place. I got over it!

That's the point I was trying to make. Different readers/posters won't see things the same way. To you, "JB" meant John-Boy. To me, "JB" meant Jim-Bob. Potentially confusing, isn't it?

Sure! I think Peggy Rea was a terrific actress. I was still in elementary school when Rose's character came to the Mountain, and remember telling my father, "Look, Dad, Lulu Hogg is on The Waltons."
For those who didn't know, or might not remember, Peggy Rea also played Lulu Hogg, wife of Boss Hogg (Sorrell Booke) on The Dukes Of Hazzard.

Yes it was John-Boy I was referring toas JB - maybe it's something to do with age, but to me Jim Bob is just one of the kids. Either that or I'm too lazy to spell out his name And it was Marsha's name that eluded me. I did like Sissy Spacek's character a lot, but she just didn't seem to be a girlfriend in the way that Marsha or Jenny was.

I always assumed fans called him it sometimes kind of as a nickname based on him doing that.

Either that or I'm too > lazy to spell out his name Well, I'm sort of the younger generation and have had a schoolgirl crush on Jim-Bob/David Harper for a very long time. A bit of a tangent, but John-Boy even calls himself 'JB' at least once doesn't he? Something like "Hi I'm Mr. JB Walton." I always assumed fans called him it sometimes kind of as a nickname based on him doing that. I think I remember him doing that, but he did it as part of a ruse of some sort. Unfortunately, I don't have the DVDs to run through to check. Debby
