Some characters had small parts with interesting storylines - like GW Haines and Marsha Woolery, that ended too quickly. I wish the writers had kept GW as a recurring character, perhaps as a boyfriend for Elizabeth (since Erin didn't want him!). Who were your favourite 'here today, gone tomorrow' characters and how would you have kept them interesting?

Simone Berringer whose part was played by Anita Jodelsohn. I believe she has appeared in numerous soap operas before and after her appearance on The Premonition. David Doremus has never appeared in anything since he played the part of GW. Earlier ha had been in the short-lived Nanny and The Professor. Does any one know--perhaps he was written out of the Waltons because he was going to marry someone who was not connected with the entertainment field, like Family Affair's Kathy Garver did---I believe she married a friend of her brothers.

I, too, liked sweet GW. He was just as real to his character as the rest of the cast. I think Erin and GW would have been sweet together, but I also really liked her with Paul! So, I don't know... I personally can't see him looking right with Elizabeth... she was perfect with Drew! Maybe, he could have worked with John at the mill or just lived nearby and married one of their school friends. It was so sad and seemed so real when he was killed in training. It always reminds us of the sacrifices of our troops... God bless them all !!!

As much as I would have liked Erin to marry GW, I think the episode in which he dies is one of the most powerful episodes in the series. I was completely surprised by his death.

One thing they could have done, if they didn't decide to kill him off, was that he could be there for Mary Ellen when Curt was killed at Pearl Harbor, latter to resurface in Florida. He would still be in the military, and a good story line could have been worked out. They could have also done more stories that involved the two orphans Sheriff Bridges and his wife adopted. The boy and Jim Bob became close friends and something more should have been done with that.
