I ADORED Curt -- for his brains, commitment to medicine, and overall integrity. That's the kind of stuff I find sexy !! The romance part of a relationship is not usually very long-lasting, but my preferences are !!!
In a way, Mary Ellen was quite a bit like Curt.....

It was good tv to kill Curt off, it was soap operish to bring him back to life.

To clarify what I said earlier, Tom Bower -- Curt Willard -- wanted a better (read: bigger) part on The Waltons, but didn't get one so he got released from his contract. He's been steadily employed since then, so leaving the show was the best thing for him. However, I would have liked to see him stay on as the local doctor and ruffle more feathers but then I wasn't one of the writers...
